Arcana, Book 1
David is a newly retired special ops soldier, looking to find his way in an unfamiliar civilian world. His first step is to visit an old friend, the owner of a bar called The Rabbit Hole on a distant space station. While there, he meets an intriguing woman who holds the keys to his future.
Adele has a special ability, handed down through her family. Adele can sometimes see the future. She doesn't know exactly why she's been drawn to the space station where her aunt deals cards in a bar that caters to station workers and ex-military. She only knows that she needs to be there. When she meets David, sparks of desire fly between them and she begins to suspect that he is part of the reason she traveled halfway across the galaxy.
Pirates gas the inhabitants of the station while Adele and David are safe inside a transport tube and it's up to them to repel the invaders. Passion flares while they wait for the right moment to overcome the alien threat and retake the station. But what good can one retired soldier and a civilian do against a ship full of alien pirates?
Note This novella was previously available in an anthology titled Fortune's Fool, which is now out of print. It has been revised and re-edited for this edition.
Warning This book contains adult situations and language, romance, adventure, and intimacy described in frank terms. There may also be some buckling of swashes, piracy and heroism in the vastness of space.
* The Jit'Suku Chronicles is a generational saga encompassing several centuries of warfare between the Milky Way Galaxy and its mostly human inhabitants and the Jit'Suku Empire. There are four novellas set in the same time period as the short story, End of the Line. They are King of Swords, King of Cups, King of Clubs, and King of Stars.
King of Swords Arcana Book 1 eBook Bianca D'Arc
I reviewed this "series" under End of the Line. This is the second in the Arcana series. The plot was good, the characters were good, nicely developed and the dialogue was more than satisfactory. The lack of character conflict, exterior forces conflict, and some relatively brief informational descriptions conspired to shorten this piece of literatire.I am so not saying I didn't like it, for what it was I really liked it, but I would love to see the author lenthen this tale maybe with the help of another author. There has to be some way to expand this story.
I loved the world she built and the population is pretty darn awesome; I have desperately tried to find an order form so I could get one of these retired super soldiers out on my space port ( I realize earth isn't on the rim, but there has to be some action over here), but Alas! no luck yet.
Bottom line: I took a chance and I was not so disappointed that I felt a negative review was in order, in fact, my only complaint is that I would have liked to stay in the story for longer.

King of Swords Arcana Book 1 eBook Bianca D'Arc Reviews
First, I love this series and can't wait for more of them. The writing is great. Hot romance, plenty action to keep the story moving, and an interesting setting. The only thing I wish was better was the character descriptions. We know that David is a gorgeous blond from the description of the cards but thats it. You don't know what Adele looks like at all. You get the idea that she is petite, but no hair color, eye color, skin tone. Nothing at all. It didn't bug me until later that I couldn't picture the females. All three books so far do they same thing. No physical descriptions of the characters.
If not for that one thing, completely 5 star books.
This is another okay story in this series. Not bad, as the characters are likeable, and the intrigue is easy to follow... I just have to say that if you are looking for "oomph!" and heavy storyline, this series falls in the "I liked it okay--but probably wouldn't re-read it again" category. I read two of the series, and after the second one I decided that even though it had a satisfying ending, I didn't really want to read another one.
This is a romance space novel. The writer kept you interested by giving the male reader enough science fiction to keep reading, and enough erotic scenes to keep the female fantasy alive. I must admit this is my first space erotic fiction I have read, I see the titillation but its not adventurous enough for me. Something that is a double edged sword, 85 pages. On the one hand its a quick dirty read, on the other not enough story line, wrapped up and in a bow at the end.
King of Swords is a sexy, fast paced, Si Fi story. Great world building, with hot super soldiers, strong women with the gift of pre-cog, and an enemy that is interesting but we are given little info about. This book introduces the key players. Dave and Adi are the first pairing of super soldier and pre-cog. Their attraction is immediate, they quickly fall in to a relationship that gives the impression they have been together forever. A really fun fast read, that makes you want more!
I'm enjoying this series, but, they are so short! Very much a slam bam thank you mam! Yes the story gets across but after the detailed banquet that is the dragon knight series I expected more. I see that the dates on these are early perhaps these were in the "learning her craft" stage.... Wish she would come back and flesh them out because the story line and potential for all the characters is huge. I love he premiss behind it!
I really like Adele and Daves characters but again just wish here was more..
This story takes place on a space station. Adele has visions and so does her aunt that is who she has come to see in a bar on this space station. But she didn’t think she would meet one of the most sexiest men ever. But after a vision she knows trouble is coming to the station. So enjoy the read and see how they handle the trouble ! !
This is the first book of the series, David is a retired soldier for the Milky Way Galaxy (it includes Earth) - soldiers in the future are huge, they pick the biggest men in the Milky Way Galaxy and they become soldiers, David has been enhanced, he is bigger, faster, quicker and smarter than most soldiers. Planets in the Milky Way have been at war with their enemies, the jit'suku for more than a century.
Most civilians avoid soldiers because they are so large so retired and off duty soldiers tend to hang together. David usually visits The Rabbit Hole, a bar owned by another soldier he knows, most of the clients are retired military and workers from the maintenance shift on the Madhatter space station.
While David is in the bar a woman comes in, he notices her immediately but knows shes not for him, she's fully human and women tend to avoid soldiers. Adele is looking for her aunt Della, she's told that Della will be in later, so she decides to wait, Della has encouraged Adele to join her on the space station, They are both Card Dealers who are also clairvoyant.
Adele has a vision immediately after she touches one of the soldiers at the bar, she tells them there will be an attack by the jit'suku, and he should take the right corridor when it happens. Alex the owner of the bar is used to Della's foresight and knows she's alway right.
Adele is not like most women, she is friendly with David and the other soldiers and he wants to spend time with her.
This was great, a lot of action, a lot of love and the characters were well-defined and the world building was phenominal. A great read. I've already finished the 2nd book and have ordered all four.
